Historic Building Maintenance & Repair
Our historic museum, opened in 1905 has needed many repairs since it’s conception. We work continually to ensure timbers stay dry, foundations are kept in check and many other ongoing maintinence priorities are proactovly supported. Your support helps us stay on top of this imporant preservation of history.
Improvements
We’ve made many recent improvements to our historic buildings: Handicapped-accessible restrooms, walkways, digital systems that support photo archival storage for collections, artifacts and the preservational improvements for the Antique Vehicle collection.
Education & Artifact Restoration
Your vital support helps us build programs and exhibits that support education with Curriculum-aligned tours on; Oregon Trail, U.S. Army in Oregon Territory, frontier medicine, and Columbia River trade. We alse work on artifact resoration projects such as the recent Grant Flag Project.

The purpose of the Fort Dalles Museum/Anderson Homestead Foundation is to preserve and protect the Fort Dalles Museum, and to seek and obtain funding and resources in support of the museum. The Foundation’s long-term goal is to establish financial stability through endowments to aid in the future operation of the museum. Short-term goals include the construction of a new vehicle building to house the historically significant antique vehicle collection, and to solicit funds for other immediate needs of the museum.
The Fort Dalles Museum/Anderson Homestead Foundation is a 501(c) 3 organization and all donations are tax-deductible. Registered Non-profit No, 30-0589167. Tax receipts provided by email at time of purchase.
